Instead he gained the "dash kicks" (Crane 236 KK) and a backflip that's actually useful - he became this agile fighter instead of a jack-of-all-trades. Removing his old 33B and AAB for example, removed fluid moves that used to make him smooth to play. SC3 cleaned up a moveset that needed cleanup, but they went too far. He has a sword too, it's deceptively long, and he knows moves that maximize its range (like lunging stabs) which make him a surprisingly good zoner. I also preach that his power is underrated because too many Yun players overestimate his kicks. But this is Soulcalibur, where you don't see shit like Meta Knight vs Ganondorf SSBB-style, so Yun was still usable competitively. His power was low however, a huge moveset but mostly impractical. Great looks and great voice in both EN and JP, always impassionate shouting all the time. A well-played Yun in SC2 feels like a well-played Cervantes in SC6, using exotic and bizarre stances that flow into each other. Fast, responsive, many stances, beautiful.
There's no question Yun was at his most fluid - easy to control - in SC2. Oi, why does Yun get to have his name in the title, unlike all your previous "favorite version of"? Favoritism smh my head with headshake. Out of the different incarnations of Yun Seong, and factoring everything in, from gameplay, design or story to animations, voice acting or dialogue, which one is overall your favourite? His storyline, however, didn't change much across the three games: he seeks Soul Edge, despite warnings, especially by Talim and Seong Mina, that the sword is evil. Yun Seong is known for his bratty abrasive persona, his fighting stances, the most famous being Crane stance, and his increasingly revealing outfits. His redesign as a Dao + Thaoist talismans user seems, however, to leave the door open for a future return by Yun Seong. Yun Seong was a starting character in SCII and SCIII and unlockable in SCIV, his last appearance thus far.Īfter SCV had no Korean characters, Hwang returned in SCVI as the final (S2) DLC character. Introduced in SCII, Korean red-haired youth Yun Seong took over from Hwang as the resident Dao wielder.
